Summary

Rowan Connect is the University’s new mass notification system designed to use text messages, voice over phone and email to quickly reach students and employees when timely and urgent messages need to be communicated.

Rowan Alert continues to be the University's primary emergency alert notification system.

Rowan Connect (Non-Emergency Notification System)

Rowan Connect is used by a number of authorized administrators on campus, including Information Resources & Technology, Strategic Enrollment Management, Bursar's Office, Residential Learning & University Housing and Student Health Services. 

Students stay connected by getting priority messages pushed directly to their mobile device regarding:

  • Actions that may involve registration or housing

  • Outages affecting campus-wide or specific campus access to IRT resources, including email, Banner, Blackboard, Internet and RowanCloud

  • Residential outages of essential services

  • Required health record updates

  • Other helpful notices that may require urgent attention

If your mobile number was already entered in Banner, you will receive an automatic subscription confirmation text from Rowan Connect (23177 or 63079).

Enroll or manage your subscription by logging into https://id.rowan.edu. There, you may update your mobile phone, personal email or manage your subscription under the "Contact Management" section.

Rowan Alert (Emergency Alert Notification System)

Rowan Alert is the University's primary emergency alert notification system used by Department of Public Safety to alert employees and students for some of the following categories:

  • Public safety emergencies where the community will be notified for their immediate safety

  • Weather emergencies, such as hurricanes, that may affect the Rowan community

  • Weather-related school closures
