The updated Citrix receiver is designed to look and function the same on all platforms that IRT supports. When you subscribe to applications, they will be available on the Receiver Favorites screen to make it easier for you to launch your favorite applications.



If you want to add an application simply select the "+" on the left side of the Receiver Window and select your application. If you prefer, you can also search for applications using the search box in the upper right corner.


 


If you have a Citrix application running on another computer and the session has not been idle for longer than 30 minutes, you can transfer the application to your existing session. To do so, select the drop-down next to your name and select "Refresh Apps." Refresh will also load any new applications added to Receiver by IRT since the last time you logged into Receiver.

titleI have a version of Citrix Receiver installed. Should I upgrade to the newest version?

You must install the updated Receiver using the appropriate download and Citrix Store configuration file listed for your device for the best possible performance using RowanCloud. Please follow the instructions above in order to install the receiver for your device.

Receiver automatically replaces many previous versions of Receiver and the Citrix online plug-ins. Some versions, however, must be removed manually before you can install the most recent version of Receiver. In that case, Receiver prompts you to remove the earlier versions from your device manually.

titleHow do I access files stored on my computer or flash drive with RowanCloud?

IRT has partnered with ExpanDrive to create a customized application that improves the user experience while accessing and saving files remotely to the Rowan network from Mac and Windows personal devices.

As a result we have removed the functionality within Citrix applications to open files located on your personal device. This is necessary because local file access within a Citrix session can dramatically slow or even crash the remote application.

ExpanDrive will allow you to easily transfer files to your H: and O: drives (aka network or home drives) from your computer. Network drives are accessible from within your Citrix session and are labeled H: (Home Drive) and O: (Common).

titleHow do I request to have an application added to RowanCloud?

If you would like to have an application added to RowanCloud, please email support@rowan.edu.

It usually takes a week to install and test an application before it can be put into our production environment. During this period we will determine if the EULA for the application permits it to be installed in a XenApp environment and ensure that the application is compatible with the existing Citrix farm servers. We will then ask you to evaluate the application to make sure that it performs as expected.
