Cisco VoIP

The Cisco VoIP phone transmits calls over the same data network that your computer uses. Combining voice and data over the same network means that you have more control over your phone and its features.

Dialing Procedures

Calling a Rowan Phone on Any Campus

Dial the 10-digit number of the person you are trying to reach. You do not need to dial a 9 first to reach any Rowan campus or office.

For information about reaching internal-only numbers, see our section on internal-only dialing below.

For dialing shortcuts, refer to our Dialing Shortcuts section below.

Calling a Non-Rowan Phone or a Mobile Phone

Dial 9 to reach an outside line followed by the 10-digit number of the person you are trying to reach, even if the call is to a local number. You do not need to dial a 1 after dialing 9 to reach an outside line.

Dialing Internal-Only Numbers on Another Campus

To reach internal-only extensions on another campus, you must dial the 10-digit extension as follows:

Glassboro: 555-555-XXXX

Stratford: 555-556-XXXX

Camden: 555-557-XXXX

If you do not know the extension of the person you are trying to reach refer to the Phone Directory section below. For information about reaching these extensions from a non-Rowan phone, please see that section below.

Dialing Internal-Only Numbers From a Non-Rowan Phone

Internal-only extensions can be reached from off campus by first dialing 856-256-4500, pressing 1, and entering the last five-digits of the person's extension followed by the # sign.

Dialing Shortcuts

When placing a call to a phone on the same campus (or school), you can dial the last 5 digits of the person’s 10 digit number.

Locate Your Phone Model Number

To determine which type of phone you have, look for a number in the upper right corner of the phone under the words "Cisco IP Phone" or look for "Model Number" on the bottom of the phone.
