The new version of MAC OS X, 10.10 (Yosemite) is expected to be released today, Thursday October 16th, and is currently incompatible with the ClearPass registration system and potentially other services at Rowan.

Usernames and Passwords

Students are given two accounts to access the University's technology resources: a Rowan Network account and a Banner account.

Use your Network ID and password to access WiFi, email, Blackboard and more. Your Network ID is the first part your email address before You can obtain your Rowan Network account information for the first time or change your password at

Use your nine-digit Banner ID to access Banner Self Service. You can look up your Banner ID or change your password at

Using the Rowan Network

We require students to install supported anti-virus software on their personal computers in order to connect to Rowan University's network. The University offers anti-virus software to students for free, and we highly recommend students use that software.

If you prefer to use your own anti-virus program, the following major anti-virus software programs have been tested and work on our network: McAfee, Symantec, Kaspersky, Norton and Trend.

Please do not install a new version of your anti-virus software right before the start of a new semester, as it may not yet be supported by our network.

Computer Service and Repair

If you are having a problem with your computer, we have technicians available to assist you. The fastest way to get your computer repaired is to bring it to the Technology Assistance Center in Memorial Hall.

The Technology Assistance Center is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the semester. During the summer and semester breaks, the center is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you have a desktop computer, just bring the computer itself. The other parts, such as monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc., are not needed.

Banner Self Service

You can register for classes, access your grades and view your transcript online by visiting and entering your Banner ID number and PIN.

Log into Blackboard for RowanSOM

Blackboard is online management software that helps students in their classes by creating, managing, organizing and housing a web-based learning environment. 

On this site, faculty can post lecture notes and information, grades and past quizzes. Blackboard also contains a chat area and bulletin board and gives students around-the-clock access to information.

Cable TV

Television is available via coaxial cable in each residential unit as well as over IP-TV. Televisions that don't have an internal digital tuner that supports Clear QAM will need an external tuner.

Download Software

You can download licensed software on our Software page. The University provides Office 365 to students for free for use on up to five personal devices.
