CrashPlan is coming to all Rowan Macs starting March 1

Information Resources & Technology will begin installing CrashPlan, a cloud-based desktop backup solution, on all Rowan-managed Mac computers starting this Friday, March 1. We will be installing on Rowan-managed Windows computers at a later date.

CrashPlan automatically backs up your preferred files every 15 minutes, preventing  data loss from hardware failures, cyber attacks and accidental deletions. By default, this includes all data on your local hard drive except system and program data. With CrashPlan, you can also restore files on your own from an easy-to-use interface.

Don’t wait. Install CrashPlan on your own now! You don’t have to  wait to get CrashPlan on your computer. You can install CrashPlan on your own today through Self Service, for Rowan-managed Mac computers, or Company Portal, for Rowan-managed Windows computers. For help, review our instructions on installing CrashPlan.

CrashPlan’s data encryption features also mean you can use it to back up all types of Rowan University data, including information protected by HIPAA and FERPA.
