Information Resources & Technology is continually evaluating anti-virus software options for personal use. For a list of our currently recommended anti-virus software programs, visit the IRT website.
The options on the website are more compatible with students’ and employees’ needs and provide a similar level of protection for personal computers as McAfee, which was previously offered.
Anti-virus software is an important tool for protecting your computer and data from potential attacks, and there are many other free and paid options available to you that are also suitable for connecting to the Rowan Network. Please note that “trial” versions of anti-virus software are not accepted when connecting to the Rowan Network.
Students and employees who previously installed Rowan-provided McAfee on a personal computer may continue to use that software and will keep receiving updates. This recommendation does not apply to Rowan-owned computers.
