Data Center upgrade scheduled for this summer

As part of a larger effort to increase the capacity and resiliency of the University’s data centers, Information Resources & Technology will be upgrading the data center on the north side of the Glassboro campus this summer.

In order to complete this upgrade, we will be shutting down the data center on Friday, June 14, at 10 p.m. We expect to have the data center back online on Wednesday, July 31.

We do not expect this shutdown to interrupt any services. All voice and data services will be routed through the data center on the south side of campus during this shutdown. However, due to the nature of this work, the potential for University-wide network service interruptions exists.

This upgrade will improve the failover capabilities of our infrastructure and increase power and cooling capacity in the data center, making it more resilient to power failures and other incidents.
