Help prevent survey fatigue: Use the Rowan survey calendar

For faculty and students conducting research with online surveys, Information Resources & Technology now offers a new service to help prevent survey fatigue — when potential respondents decide not to provide feedback due to an overwhelming number of survey requests — and boost response rates.

With the Rowan survey calendar, you can see when your colleagues and classmates have surveys scheduled and the populations those surveys are targeting. Using that information, you can select a date for your survey that doesn’t conflict with another survey, maximizing your chances for a good response rate

This survey calendar is intended to capture surveys that will be distributed to 100 or more people. Surveys that will be distributed to fewer than 100 people, as well as surveys that have been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), are not expected to be listed on this calendar.

However, if you plan to distribute a non-IRB approved survey to 100 or more people in the Rowan community, we encourage you to:

  1. Consult the current survey calendar at go.rowan.edu/surveycalendar.
  2. Choose the dates you plan to distribute your survey and send out reminders.
  3. Enter the information about your survey in Rowan Survey Calendar form at go.rowan.edu/surveyform
  4. The information you provide will be added to the Rowan Survey Calendar within 24 – 48 hours.
