Preparing Rowan workstations for flexible work

Information Resources & Technology will be making changes to how we manage technology for employees in the coming months as part of Rowan University’s larger efforts to support flexible working arrangements.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been coordinating with departments and offices to issue laptops to faculty and staff across all campuses to support remote work.

Now, we are beginning to replace desktop computers with laptop docking stations in the workspaces of employees who received a laptop due to the pandemic. Laptop docking stations will allow you to seamlessly transport your computer from campus to remote locations while maintaining the desktop experience in your office. We will also be repurposing the desktop towers for student use throughout campus.

This month we will start installing laptop docking stations in the offices of employees in Glassboro and connecting the stations to existing monitors, keyboards, mice and other peripherals. Only the desktop computer tower will be removed. We will be directly contacting individual employees to coordinate this process, so keep an eye on your email.

We look forward to equipping Rowan University employees with the tools you need to support the University of the Future.
