Update on removable media restrictions for Rowan workstations

​In response to campus feedback and to minimize potential impact to academic units during the semester, Information Resources & Technology will focus on restricting removable media for administrative units this academic year. 

As part of this update to our roll out schedule: 

• We will continue to align with best practices and will reexamine our approach to removable media restrictions for academic units. 
• If you submitted a removable media exception request, we will process your request, and you will receive notice when it has been approved. 

Removable media devices, like USB flash drives, can serve as hosts for ransomware and other cyber threats and can lead to data loss in the event of theft, damage or failure. We must all be diligent about what we do online to help protect ourselves, our departments and our University. For ways you can protect yourself, review our online security checklist.
