Employees may now upgrade to macOS Ventura on their own

Employees may now upgrade Rowan-owned Mac computers to the macOS Ventura operating on their own through Self Service

Please back up any important documents or other content before starting the upgrade and close all applications. You may lose unsaved data if the upgrade is not successful. You have access to unlimited storage on Google Drive. For help uploading files to Google Drive, review these instructions.

If you are upgrading a laptop, make sure your AC power cord is connected to your computer.

When you are ready to begin the upgrade:

  1. ​Go to Finder > Applications > Self Service 
  2. Log in with your Rowan NetID
  3. Locate the “macOS Ventura” option, click Install and follow the prompts to complete the installation 

As part of the upgrade to macOS Ventura, the antivirus software on your computer will also be upgraded from Trellix (formerly McAfee) to Microsoft Defender, and the McAfee icon will be removed from your menu bar.
