Secure your virtual meetings with these tips

Virtual meetings help connect our campus community when we can’t all be together in person. To ensure our online gatherings remain safe and productive for everyone, please use the tips and resources below to prevent disruptions to virtual meetings.

Tips for Protecting Virtual Meetings

Do not share meeting information publicly, such as on social media or a public website. If a meeting requires external attendees and needs to be promoted publicly, require a password to access the meeting.
Log in to meetings with your Rowan NetID. If you are hosting a meeting and do not recognize the name of an attendee, remove the attendee from the meeting.
- Log in to Rowan Zoom: To access Zoom with your Rowan NetID, visit rowan.zoom.us or follow our instructions for logging in via a desktop client or mobile app. Also, see our instructions for using Zoom in Canvas.
- Log in to Rowan Webex: To access Webex with your Rowan NetID, visit rowan.webex.com or follow our instructions for joining a meeting via a desktop client or mobile app. Also, see our instructions for using Webex in Canvas.
Disable screen sharing and file transfers for attendees.

Report Interruptions

If you are conducting or attending a video conference and experience an interruption, please be sure to report it to the University. We take every interruption very seriously, and we will investigate to the fullest extent possible.

Depending on the nature of the interruption, you may take one or all of the following actions:

Report the interruption to IRT: Any interruption to a video conference should be reported to IRT for further investigation. You can call 856-256-4400, email support@rowan.edu or submit a ticket in the Rowan Support Portal.
File a Title IX complaint: If the interruption involved sexual misconduct and harassment or gender based discrimination you may file a Title IX Online Report for further investigation.
