Download Citrix Receiver for Mac OS

Important note: Please make sure you are not connected to the Rowan VPN client when running the Citrix Receiver. The VPN negatively impacts the speed of the Citrix Receiver. 

Installation Instructions

Download the Citrix Receiver from the link below.
CitrixReceiver12.6.dmg (Supports OS X 10.10, 10.11 and MacOS 10.12)

You will be prompted to save the file “CitrixReceiver.dmg” to your computer.

After you have downloaded the “CitrixReceiver.dmg” file, find and open the file on your computer. A Citrix Receiver box will appear. Click “Install Citrix Receiver.pkg” to begin.

After you have saved the file, find it on your computer and double-click the file to open it. If a security dialogue box appears, click Run or Yes to begin installing the Citrix Receiver.

A security dialogue may appear, alerting you that the installer will run a program to determine if the software can be installed. Click “Continue” on this box to proceed.


At the start of the installation, you will be taken to an installer introduction screen. Click “Continue” to proceed.

The installer will ask you to confirm that you agree to the terms of the software license agreement after hitting "Continue."

Click “Agree” to proceed.

If the installer asks you to choose a destination for the software, select to install the software to your local hard drive. Then click “Continue” to proceed. Some computers may skip this step entirely.

On the next page, select “Install” to begin installing the Citrix Receiver.

Your computer will ask for your Mac user account name and password to verify the install. Enter that information and click “Install Software” to proceed. Download the RowanCloud Citrix configuration file:

The installation may take a few minutes to complete.

Once the installation is complete, click "Close" to finish the process.

Download the RowanCloud Citrix configuration file.

Select "Save as" and save the file to your computer.

Once the file is saved double click on the file to add the configuration to the Citrix Receiver and select agree.

Please note that depending on how your computer is configured, you may be prompted to choose which program on your computer should open the RowanCloud configuration file. Choose the Citrix Receiver and click OK.

The Citrix Receiver should launch. If it doesn't, open Finder and navigate to Applications > Citrix Receiver

After the RowanCloud configuration file is loaded to the Citrix Receiver, a dialogue box will appear asking you to provide a username and password to log in. In the Domain\User field, type “rowanads\” followed by your Rowan network username. For example, if your Rowan network username is “abcxyz34” you would type “rowanads\abcxyz34” in this field.

Please note that select Rowan University owned Windows computers joined to the rowanads Windows domain will automatically login to Citrix using the account credentials for the user that is logged in.

After you’ve entered the Domain\User field, Type your Rowan network password into the Password field and click “Log On” to proceed.


Once logged in, click the plus icon on the left side to begin accessing virtual applications.

You can now browse through the available Rowan Apps. Click on any App to add it to your Citrix Receiver library.

Once you've added Apps to your Citrix Receiver subscription, you can launch any of the Apps from the Citrix Receiver home screen.
