Information Resources & Technology has nearly finished the roll out of McAfee Endpoint Security to Rowan University-owned computers used by employees in Glassboro and Camden.

We need your help to complete this important anti-virus software upgrade on all Rowan-owned computers, including desktops and laptops.

Is McAfee Installed on Your Computer?

If McAfee is installed on your computer, you should see a red icon in your computer’s taskbar. 

If you do not see the red icon, you have several options for getting the new software installed on your computer. Please pursue the option that works best for you at your earliest convenience.

Options for Desktop Computers Without McAfee

If you work in Glassboro or Camden, you should now have McAfee installed on your desktop computer. If you do not have McAfee on your desktop computer, you have two options:

Option 1: If you turn your computer off every night, keep your computer on and McAfee will be automatically installed.

Option 2: If you have kept your computer on every night, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400 or support@rowan.edu, and a support specialist will install the new software.

Options for Laptop Computers Without McAfee

If you work in Glassboro or Camden and use a laptop, McAfee may not yet be installed on your computer. You have three options to complete this necessary upgrade:

Option 1: Bring your laptop to campus, plug in the power supply and turn it on. Do not log in to your computer, and leave your computer on campus. This will allow us to push out McAfee to your computer overnight.

Option 2: If you are unable to leave your laptop on campus overnight, you can bring it to the Technology Assistance Center in Memorial Hall. The center is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer. If you work at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, please email cmsrusupport@rowan.edu for assistance.

Option 3: If the options above don't work for you, please contact the Technology Support Center to schedule a remote upgrade. You can call 856-256-4400 or email support@rowan.edu.

As was previously announced, this update to McAfee is the first step in a larger upgrade that we expect to finish in 2019. As part of that larger upgrade, we will be rolling out more features available with McAfee to enhance security in the clinical and research areas and provide employees with a more streamlined experience with encryption. But first we need to make sure every Rowan computer is protected with our new anti-virus software.
