Duo two-factor authentication: Volunteer to be more secure today!

Want to add a second layer of security to your Rowan Network account? Start by using Duo two-factor authentication.

Information Resources & Technology is seeking volunteers to enroll in Duo, the two-factor authentication platform we are implementing at Rowan University. This second layer of security prevents unauthorized users from accessing your account, even if they know your password. You may already have experience using this type of additional protection with your own bank or financial institution.

What do I need to do to enroll in Duo?

  1. Log in to the Duo Portal at https://duo.rowan.edu
  2. Click Register New Device and add each device (smartphone, landline, etc.) that you would like to use with Duo.
  3. Done! After you have registered your devices, you will be prompted by Duo to verify your identity when logging in to various University applications and websites. (There is also a “Remember me for 14 days” checkbox available in the Duo login prompt available to select on trusted computers to bypass Duo in that browser for 14 days.)

We recommend using your smartphone with the Duo app as your primary device.  We also encourage all Duo users to enroll a backup method, like your office phone, in case your primary method becomes unavailable, such as a broken or lost smartphone.

Detailed instructions and more information about Duo can be found on the IRT website at https://go.rowan.edu/duo

In the future, Duo enrollment will be mandatory for all Rowan users. Some users with access to sensitive data or services will be required to enroll beginning in September. Users who are required to enroll in September will be notified separately.
