A firewall feature available through McAfee Endpoint Protection will soon be enabled to help protect Rowan University-owned and managed laptops when they are connected to off-campus networks.
Note: This feature will not be enabled when the device is connected to the Rowan Network on campus or when you are connected to the Rowan Network via VPN from an off-campus location.
The firewall will prevent potential intruders and other malicious traffic from remotely attacking or accessing a Rowan-owned laptop. Information Resources & Technology will start enabling the firewall on Rowan-owned laptops on March 15.
Employees with Rowan-owned laptops should not notice any changes after the firewall is enabled.
