Don't use Windows 10 Mail app to connect to Exchange

Employees and medical students should not use the built-in Windows 10 Mail app to access their Rowan University email accounts from a personal or non-Rowan-managed computer. Due to the way the Mail app is identified in Exchange, personal and non-Rowan-managed computers will be encrypted if you access your Rowan University email using the Mail app.

If you believe your personal device has been encrypted due to this issue, follow the instructions in our BitLocker encryption article to either retrieve an encryption key or remove encryption from your device.

Information Resources & Technology recommends employees and medical students use Microsoft Outlook or the Outlook Web App to access their Rowan University email from a mobile device or personal computer.

Students, faculty and staff may install Office 365, which includes Microsoft Outlook, on up to five personal devices for free. Visit portal.office.com to download the Office suite to your computer.

To access the Outlook Web App, log in to exchange.rowan.edu. You can also install the Outlook app on your mobile device
