As faculty begin to move courses online for the remainder of the semester and staff and administration prepare for the possibility of working off-campus due to coronavirus concerns, many employees have raised questions about how to continue performing their roles in a virtual environment.
There are many tools and resources available to assist you with this transition.
Webex & Other Videoconferencing Solutions
Webex is the supported videoconference solution available to all Rowan University employees. All Rowan University employees now have access to Webex. You do not need to request an account to use Webex. To get started with Webex, log in to rowan.webex.com ordownload and install Cisco Webex Meetings.
Faculty who are using Blackboard or Canvas to deliver classes online are encouraged to use the videoconferencing solutions that are integrated with those learning management systems to connect with students. Q&A Sessions
Information Resources & Technology, the Faculty Center and Rowan Online will be hosting two Webex sessions for employees who have questions about tools and resources for teaching and working remotely. The sessions will be held on Tuesday, March 17, and Wednesday, March 18, from noon to 1 p.m.
We will be accepting questions via chat during the sessions. We will also be recording both sessions, so employees who are unable to tune in for the live sessions can watch on their own time.
Guides for Working & Teaching Remotely
Information Resources & Technology has compiled guides for employees with a list of the available Rowan University supported tools and resources for working remotely and teaching remotely. The Faculty Center has also created guides that include technical resources and suggestions for faculty, as well as pedagogical recommendations for remote teaching.
