Self-Service Banner to offer single sign-on on March 1

You’ll have one less password to remember next week!

As of Monday, March 1, Information Resources & Technology is enabling single sign-on on Self-Service Banner. That means you’ll be able to log in to Banner with your Rowan Network username and password, just like you do with Canvas, Google Apps and other Rowan applications. You’ll no longer need to enter your Banner ID and PIN to access Banner.

As of March 1, once you’ve navigated to Self-Service Banner, click the Log in using Rowan Network credentials link. If you’ve already authenticated with our single sign-on platform in your browser, you will be automatically directed to the main menu in Self-Service Banner. If you haven’t authenticated yet, you’ll be directed to our single sign-on page to log in and verify your identity with Duo two-factor authentication.

Using single sign-on to log in to Self-Service Banner will provide a more seamless experience as you navigate through different modules, such as student registration and the employee dashboard. With this change, we will also be turning off the need to enter your PIN when submitting your time sheet and printing your W-2 form.

This change is part of a larger effort to retire the PIN completely and help the Rowan community follow best practices with passwords and password management. We will be making announcements in the coming months when more details about this effort are available.
