New Windows update process for Rowan workstations starts May 17

Information Resources & Technology will be making changes to how we manage Windows workstations in the coming weeks to support flexible work, improve security and optimize system performance.

As part of these changes, we will be enabling Microsoft to push automatic updates to Windows workstations, even when machines are located off campus. As of Monday, May 17, we will start moving eligible Rowan-managed Windows workstations into our new workstation management tool.

If your workstation is moved into the new tool, you will receive notifications when an update is ready to install that will require you to restart your workstation. If you dismiss these notifications, your workstation will be automatically restarted. For more information about these notifications, read our article on checking for updates to Rowan workstations
