Upgrade required for macOS Mojave or older versions

Information Resources & Technology will be phasing out support for macOS Mojave (10.14) on Rowan-owned computers this summer. Employees who are using a Rowan-owned computer with macOS Mojave must upgrade their operating system by August 15.

What do employees with an outdated macOS need to do now?

  1. Back up your documents. Please back up any important documents or other content before starting the upgrade and close all applications. You may lose unsaved data if the upgrade is not successful.  Employees have access to unlimited storage on Google Drive. For help uploading files to Google Drive, review these instructions.
  2. Connect your power supply. If you are upgrading a Macbook, make sure your AC power cord is connected to your computer.
  3. Upgrade your macOS. You can complete the upgrade on your own time by following the directions below:
    1. Go to Finder > Applications > Self Service
    2. Log in with your Rowan Network username and password
    3. Locate the “MacOS Big Sur Upgrade” option, click Install and follow the prompts to complete the installation. If you prefer, you can also upgrade to the older macOS Catalina rather than Big Sur.
