macOS Monterey: What you need to know

Rowan University employees can start using macOS Monterey, which was released on Monday, Oct. 25, on your Rowan-managed computer today by joining a pilot program being offered by Information Resources & Technology.

To join the pilot, email support@rowan.edu with your device’s serial number or computer name. Once you’ve been approved to join the pilot, we will verify your software is up to date and provide you access to update to macOS Monterey. While all standard Rowan software has been tested with macOS Monterey, any additional software you use may require an update or not function with this operating system.

We will notify employees when macOS Monterey is widely available to all Rowan-managed devices.

Rowan University students who want to upgrade a personal device to macOS Monterey are encouraged to take the following steps:

  1. Check software compatibility. Make sure any software you use on your computer on a regular basis will work with macOS Monterey.
  2. Back up your documents. Please back up any important documents or other content before starting the upgrade and close all applications. You may lose unsaved data if the upgrade is not successful.  You have access to unlimited storage on Google Drive. For help uploading files to Google Drive, review these instructions.

If you have any questions, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400, or submit a ticket in the Rowan Support Portal.
