Transitioning Rowan phone service to Comcast

Rowan University is switching phone service carriers to improve the reliability of inbound and outbound calling across all campuses. To complete this transition, we will be moving existing phone lines on the Glassboro, Camden and Stratford campuses from Windstream to Comcast in separate phases over the course of the summer.

There may be a brief interruption in service on the day your phone line is moved to Comcast, but there will be no other changes associated with this transition. You will still use the same dialing process you use now to make internal and external calls after your number is moved to Comcast. We will notify you when the transition date has been finalized for phone lines on your campus.

Fax lines will move to Comcast on May 24

On Tuesday, May 24, fax lines will be moved to Comcast, which may cause a brief interruption in inbound faxing from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Inbound faxes to RightFax users will not be affected. If you experience any ongoing issues with a fax line after the May 24 transition is complete, we will have live support available via Webex.

We will also be moving some legacy fire alarms to Comcast on Tuesday, May 24. We do not expect the move to affect fire alarm capabilities. However, we are coordinating with Public Safety and Fire Safety to ensure buildings with fire alarms that will be moved to Comcast are monitored on the day of the transition.
