Cable TV service ends on July 1

Rowan University will turn down our cable TV service as of July 1, 2024. This service has been underutilized as our campus community relies more on third-party streaming services and apps for entertainment and news.

By retiring Apogee’s Stream2 service, we can allocate resources more efficiently while meeting our community’s media consumption preferences.

If you are currently using Apogee’s Stream2 service to display cable TV in a waiting area or other location, you may set up an account with Comcast to gain access to TV services through Xfinity Stream. Here’s what you need to know if you want to pursue this option:

  • Your department must contact Comcast to set up an account on your own. Once you have a quote, you’ll have to gain approval through the University’s normal purchasing process.
  • Comcast may not run additional cabling to provide TV services. You must use an option that provides TV services via the internet, such as through the Xfinity Stream app, which runs on all major platforms
