Information Resources & Technology is upgrading the network infrastructure in Esby Gym and the Rec Center this summer to improve wireless internet access and reliability throughout those buildings.
Here’s what you need to know about this upgrade:
- Vendors will be onsite starting on or around June 21 through mid-July: Our vendors will be working inside Esby Gym and the Rec Center to install new cabling, wireless access points and other equipment. While our vendors will work to limit interruptions in these spaces as much as possible, they will need to access locker rooms to complete the upgrade, so spaces may be temporarily closed during this time period.
- Network outage required to complete upgrade: In order to cutover to the new equipment, there will be a network outage in Esby Gym and the Rec Center before the upgrade is complete. We will communicate the exact date and time of this outage, which will affect wired and wireless internet access in both buildings, when we have finalized those details.
