Tariffs may cause price increases, ordering delays

Many Rowan University vendors have advised that the newly implemented tariffs on imported goods may lead to increased prices and longer order processing times on a wide variety of products. These changes could impact both existing and future orders, particularly for technology purchases.

Lenovo, Rowan’s primary computer supplier, is reevaluating pending orders and has temporarily paused new orders as it determines the impact of the new tariffs on its pricing structures.

We’re working closely with our vendors and suppliers to mitigate price increases and ordering delays as much as possible. However, this is a rapidly evolving situation, and you should plan for higher-than-usual prices and potential delays on a range of goods with imported components.

To help navigate these changes at Rowan University, we recommend:

  • Placing orders as early as possible to help with timely delivery and receiving.
  • Reviewing potential budget impacts if you have large purchases planned for this fiscal year.

If you have general procurement questions, please contact the Office of Contracting and Procurement at requisitions@rowan.edu. If you have specific questions about pending or future technology orders, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400, or submit a ticket in the Rowan Support Portal
