RowanWiFi issues? Turn off private addresses

A built-in Apple feature called Private Wi-Fi Address is interfering with how campus networks across the country, including RowanWiFi, recognize iPhones and other devices. This feature is leading to connection issues for some users.

Disable Private Wi-Fi Address on Apple

If you’re having trouble with your RowanWiFi connection, we strongly recommend you take the following steps:.

  1. Forget RowanWifi
  2. Follow these Apple instructions to turn off Private Wi-Fi Address on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch.
  3. Reconnect to RowanWiFi

Updating this setting often resolves repeated login prompts and other connectivity issues on RowanWiFi.

Non-Apple Devices

This issue mainly affects Apple devices, but if you're experiencing problems on Android or Windows, look for a similar setting like:

  • Randomized MAC
  • Use Randomized Mac
  • Use random hardware addresses for this network
