Employees may now upgrade to macOS Tahoe on their own

Employees may now upgrade Rowan-owned Mac computers to the macOS Tahoe operating system on their own through Self Service. If your computer is running macOS Ventura, you are required to upgrade to macOS Sonoma or a later version to keep your computer compliant.

Please back up any important documents or other content before starting the upgrade and close all applications. You may lose unsaved data if the upgrade is not successful. IRT recommends you back up your computer using CrashPlan, or you have access to unlimited storage on Google Drive

If you are upgrading a laptop, make sure your AC power cord is connected to your computer.

When you are ready to begin the upgrade:

  1. Go to Finder > Applications > Self Service
  2. Log in with your Rowan NetID
  3. Locate the “macOS Tahoe Upgrade” option, click Install and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

If you have any other questions, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400, or submit a ticket in the Rowan Support Portal. You can also get answers to common questions in our Knowledge Base and our chatbot, Ask Susan, at any time.
