Duo Mobile app update required by February 2

Duo has announced it will block authentication attempts from older versions of the Duo Mobile app as of Monday, February 2.

Duo Mobile must be updated to version 4.85.0 or later to prevent login issues after that date.

We’ve directly emailed students and employees who have recently logged in with an older version of the app that will be affected by this change, but we encourage everyone to ensure their app is up to date.

Check Your Duo Mobile App Version

To check the version of your app to determine whether it needs to be updated.

  1. Launch Duo Mobile on your device
  2. Select the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. The app version will be displayed in the bottom left-hand corner. If your app is not version 4.85.0 or later, it needs to be updated (version 4.7.0 would need to be updated; version 4.10.0 would not).

Update Duo Mobile

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
  2. Search for Duo Mobile
  3. Update to version 4.85.0 or later

The update typically takes less than a minute and does not change how you approve Duo login requests.
