You can now choose to upgrade your Rowan-managed computer to Windows 11, which offers features to help boost your productivity, optimize your screen space and secure your data.
Just fill out our online opt-in form, and we'll review your computer to make sure it's eligible for the upgrade. If it is, we'll add your computer to the pilot group.
Preparing for Windows 11 Upgrade: Important Steps & Timeline
- Back up your data: Make sure your data is backed up before you start the upgrade, as you may lose files if the upgrade is not successful. Verify that our desktop backup solution, CrashPlan, has been installed on your computer, and is backing up your preferred files. You can also back up specific files to Google Drive or OneDrive.
- Windows 11 upgrade prompt: You will receive a Windows Update message when Windows 11 is ready to be installed on your computer. It may take up to a week after you've submitted the pilot group form until you start receiving these prompts.
- Up to 60 minutes for installation: While upgrade times will vary, it may take up to one hour to install Windows 11 and complete the upgrade. You may defer the upgrade for up to 30 days, at which point Windows 11 will automatically be installed on your computer.
