What Do I Get?

This service provides access to a Rowan-issued workstation that gives employees and other members of the Rowan community the technology they need to perform their roles effectively while promoting responsible use of resources.

Workstation specifications, management and funding sources  vary depending on business needs. However, most employees will be issued a workstation through a centrally-planned, managed and funded program, known as the essential device program.

Why Do I Want It?

Rowan-issued workstations give you the technology you need to get your job done.

Standard workstations provided through the essential device program are equipped with productivity applications, hardware encryption and threat prevention software and are centrally funded and replaced on a regular schedule that is currently set at five years.

We also offer other workstation configurations and specifications based on business needs.

Who Can Get It?

This service is available to faculty and staff. Faculty and staff may assign certain workstations to other Rowan community members, with approval, as outlined in the Information Technology Equipment Allocation (ITEA) Policy.

How Do I Request It?

Essential Device Program Workstations

Supervisors must submit a request through the Rowan Support Portal for new employees, except faculty who are assigned to a college which are provided directly from the Provost’s Office, to be enrolled in the essential device program.

IRT will contact employees with workstations in the essential device program when they are due for replacement.

Other Workstations

Computers issued outside of the Essential Device Program must be purchased through the Rowan Support Portal

Review our step-by-step guide on buying technology for more information.

How Can I Access It?

We will schedule a time for delivery of the computer once it has been approved and cleared the University’s procurement process.
