What Do I Get? 

This service provides extra security for Rowan Network accounts by adding a second method of identity verification when accessing protected applications, like Google Drive and Canvas.

Why Do I Want It? 

The extra layer of security provided by Duo two-factor authentication prevents unauthorized users from accessing your account, even if they know your password. Faculty, staff, students and affiliates are required to use Duo two-factor authentication to secure their Rowan Network accounts. 

Who Can Get It?

This service is available to faculty, staff and students, as well as affiliates who have Rowan Network accounts. 

How Do I Request It?

Faculty, staff, students and affiliates automatically receive access to the online Duo Portal once their Rowan Network accounts have been provisioned. To enroll in Duo two-factor authentication, follow the steps below. 

How Can I Access It?  

Once you've enrolled in Duo two-factor authentication, you can manage your devices in the online Duo Portal. If you haven't enrolled in Duo two-factor authentication, it only takes three steps to do so:

1. Log in to the Duo Portal

Go to duo.rowan.edu, click I don't know my Rowan Network Username/Password and follow the prompts to verify your identity.

2. Create a Portal Security PIN 

You'll be prompted to create a six-digit Portal Security PIN. Enter a six-digit number you can easily remember. Don't forget your PIN! This six-digit number is your key to the Duo Portal.

3. Register at Least One Device

We recommend using the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone. Duo Mobile is the fastest and most secure way to verify your identity at Rowan University.

With Duo Mobile, you can complete two-step authentication by approving a push notification on your smartphone, rather than waiting for a text message or phone call. Push notifications also use end-to-end encryption that’s not available with a text message or phone call.
